"female objectification is condoned and yet male objectification is accepted."

the word you want is 'condemned.' the word 'condone' is synonymous with 'accepted', or perhaps closer to 'with implicit permission.'

regarding your last sentence, i think there's something either in the male psyche (which i assume to be built by interaction with the society) or simply in their genes/hormones (which i assume to exist no matter what society the man is in) that responds well to being liked by women. maybe it's 'ego flattering' to the man to think that women are attracted to how they look. maybe it goes back to the whole 'the cave man who wins is the one with the most women at his feet, b/c then he has the most babies and takes over the tribe.' men want to be wanted. and because they understand well the innate attraction to women (it is true that men are more subconciously driven by image than women are), it's easy for them to understand being on the receiving end of such attention. "I think that girl is hawt, so it'd be cool if she thought i was hawt too. i get that."

in some senses, while i don't think it's about 'revenge' as some say, it kind of makes sense to me that (some) women are figuring out that hey, they like looking at cute guys. personally, that's not something i find as a useful way to pass the time. but i'm not surprised that it's happening. whatever innate thing it is that causes men to find women physically appealing, i'm not surprised that women are figuring that out too. on the other hand, two wrongs don't make the whole thing right.

but in general, it's not my cup of tea either. /tldr.
