Caffeine and sleeping habits
I hate coffee. I hate the taste of it, and more often than not, it never keeps me awake. I think caffeine has to be like, directly injected into my veins to be useful. Caffeine doesn’t work.
In JC, in order to keep ourselves awake, we would suck on sweets. This worked on my friends, but it never worked for me. I’d just fall asleep with the sweet in my mouth. So one day, my friend threw me a coffee sweet. She said something along the lines of ‘this will surely keep you awake.’
It didn’t. I still fell asleep, and it’s a running joke between the three of us. Plus me doing ballet.
I always had 6 hours of sleep during those days. I can’t help it; I’m a nocturnal girl. No matter how sleepy I am in the morning or afternoon or how exhausted we all get after PE, at night I’m really energetic. So I stay up till 12 and wake up at 6.
After JC, and no more waking up at 6 (forever, I hope), it took me a year to get my sleeping schedule back. In the beginning I slept for 12 hours. Now, I wake up at 8.39 on the spot! Whee.
It feels good to have a regular sleeping schedule. The kids in Singapore are sorely deprived of that.
