A quick thought.
If someone else does not respond, one would come to believe that the other person is 1) Not interested, 2) Simply too lazy to make the effort, or 3) Just plain rude.
Why should I make so much effort in attempting to preserve a friendship when you do not reciprocate?
When did I become the nice guy, and you evolving into a corporate backstabber? When did I become the ‘true friend who stays with you even in troubled times’? I myself am amazed at this turn of events, when I am willing to go the extra mile, but everyone else hesitates. I had always thought it was the other way around, where I never gave a shit for everyone else and everyone else criticized me for, well, disliking everyone else.
